Who You Are Dealing With
Lake Zurich Garage Door Pros works on the doors that are actually on the ground in this part of Illinois
Houses built anywhere from 1938 to 2009, with most of the stock going up in the 1980s and 90s. That range matters. A split-level from the 60s has different header clearance and spring tension than a 1995 build with a bigger two-car bay, and we see both on the same street some weeks.
We're based out of 795 Ela Rd in Lake Zurich
And most of our calls come from right here, plus the towns within a short drive: Deer Park, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods, Long Grove, Inverness, Wauconda, and out as far as Grayslake and Libertyville. Across that area there are roughly 174,673 households and just under 100,000 owner-occupied houses - a lot of them with a garage door that's never been touched since the house was built.

We're not a national chain with a call center routing your job to whoever's closest
It's a door, a spring, an opener, or a track - we come look at it and tell you straight what it needs.
What We Will Not Do
We won't quote you a repair over the phone sight unseen and we won't tell you a spring job needs a full door replacement when it doesn't. If your opener is original to a house built in the 1980s or 90s and the motor's dead, sometimes the honest answer is to replace the opener and leave the door alone - we'll say that instead of selling you more than the job needs.
We don't do general handyman work, home remodeling, or structural framing around the garage opening. If the header or jamb needs carpentry beyond what holds the door hardware, that's outside what we take on, and we'll tell you so rather than stretch the job past what we're set up to do.
We also won't pretend every part is sitting on the truck. Some of the older torsion hardware from houses built decades ago uses sizes nobody stocks locally anymore, and a part like that can mean a short wait before we come back to finish the job. We'd rather tell you that up front than have you find out when we're already halfway through the repair.
What We Actually Do
Broken torsion and extension springs, snapped cables, bent tracks, worn rollers, and opener motors that won't engage - that's the bulk of the call volume, and it tracks with the age of the housing stock in this area. A door that's been cycling twice a day since the house was built in the 80s or 90s is due for spring fatigue and roller wear whether the owner's noticed it yet or not.
We also replace full door sections and panels when a car backs into one, when wood has rotted on an older build, or when the door itself is past the point where a repair makes sense. On houses from the earlier end of that 1938-to-2009 range, we sometimes run into one-piece doors or older track configurations that need a different approach than the sectional doors most newer builds have.
Opener installs and swaps round out most of the rest - safety sensor issues, drive gear failures, remote and keypad problems. If a homeowner in this area calls about a door that won't open, close, or reverse properly, it's almost always one of these.
How to Reach Us
Call (847) 874-0872 to set up a visit or ask about a specific problem
A grinding noise, a door that's off its track, a spring that let go. We're located at 795 Ela Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047, and that's also where the trucks run out from each day.
If you're not sure whether what you're dealing with is a quick fix or something bigger
Describe what's happening when you call. A door that won't budge and a door that opens but won't stay open are different problems with different fixes, and it helps to know which one you've got before anyone drives out.
